ABOUT COMMUNICATION ARTS & PATRICK COYNE

Founded in 1959, CA is the leading professional journal for designers, design firms, agencies and corporate communications departments. In addition to managing the content of the magazine, Coyne also determines content, writes features and his editor’s column. Before joining CA in 1986, Coyne went to the California College of the Arts, worked for Michael Mabry Design and SBG Partners and established the San Francisco-based design firm of Patrick Coyne/Stephanie Steyer Design Office. Since then, he has been on the receiving end of many awards for his design and art direction, including a silver medal from the Society of Illustrators and the 2004 Design Leadership Award from the American Institute of Graphic Arts. Coyne has been a frequent speaker at numerous art directors and advertising clubs as well as local, national and international design conferences.
