
Are you a player? Will you do whatever it takes to advance your career? Then show us what you've got. Bring your best game, then let it all hang out. But be warned. Don't think you can charm us with flash get your hands on our goodies. This game is for grown-ups. You need something to back up those looks.
- Must be registered as a student within the DC chapter area.*
- Must be enrolled as an undergraduate student.*
- Work must have been created between April 2007 and April 2008.
- Entries will be judged on their overall effectiveness as self promotional pieces.
*Recent graduates are eligible if they qualify for the “Student Membership” guidelines defined by AIGA.
All entries must be received by Friday, May 2, 2008 by 5:00pm.
Judging will take place Sunday, May 4, 2008.
Printed media can include brochures, direct mail, logos with identity systems, packaging, posters, publications, and three-dimensional objects. You may send actual pieces such as T-shirts at your discretion. High-quality, clearly labeled slides or transparencies will be accepted for the following: posters larger than 40" and three-dimensional objects. An entry may include multiple pieces if they are all part of a cohesive campaign. If your entry includes multiple pieces that are all part of one campaign then it is considered one entry and only requires one fee.
Interactive media includes promotional projects such as web sites or CD-ROMs. Web sites should be submitted as an active URL, if available, so the judges may view the site live. Inactive sites may be submitted via CD/DVD. For web sites, you should also supply a site description and three to five full-color screen grabs printed on an 8.5"x11" sheet (include your URL on each page if the site is live). Multimedia and interactive presentations should be submitted on a CD/DVD. All entries should be self-running applications without further installations or requirements.
Narrative media consists of video, Flash, animation, and motion graphics. Each entry can be submitted as color prints, slides, or transparencies of at least three frames but must also be accompanied by a CD/DVD. Please submit only one entry per CD/DVD. Entries should run no longer than five minutes. Please keep in mind that CD labeling and packaging will be considered by the judges.
- Finalists will be recognized at the AIGA 50 reception on May 20, 2008 at the National Postal Museum in Washington, DC.
- Finalists and their work will be featured on the AIGA DC chapter web site.
- One grand prize winner will receive a copy of Adobe Creative Suite 3 Design Premium package software, donated by Adobe.
